The conflict in Ukraine, initiated by Russia, has resulted in substantial economic damage for Ukraine, its inhabitants and their enterprises. This online conference, organized by the State University of Trade and Economics (Kyiv) in conjunction with J.S. Held, assembles panels of legal and financial specialists to discuss potential reparation avenues for Ukraine and those impacted by the Russian invasion, as well as methods for calculating these losses.

Panel 1: Mechanisms for paying reparations to Ukraine. This panel is composed of legal experts actively involved in the pursuit of reparations and compensation. They will provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the legal strategies being explored and, in some cases, implemented across various national and international forums to compensate individuals and businesses that have suffered losses due to the conflict in Ukraine.

Panel 2: Estimation of economic losses: practical examples. This panel includes financial experts with a wealth of experience in testifying as to the quantification of economic damages in a variety of situations. They will share their knowledge and the fundamental principles of economic damage quantification, as well as discuss the unique challenges that have emerged and are expected to emerge in the context of reparations and compensation related to the conflict in Ukraine.
