Lecture of Economic Research Director of the US Department of Justice

On October 18, 2016 Russell W. Pittman, economic research director at Antitrust Division, US Department of Justice, held lectures on "Competition Policy in the Market (Tourism, Hotel Restaurants, and Trade)" and "Competition in the Global Economy". The event was organized at the invitation of the KNUTE Department of Economic Theory and Competition Policy. The students of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Psychology, Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Business, International Trade and Law, as well as lecturers in economics, enterprise finance, management, economic theory and competition policy attended the lectures.
In his speech, Russell W. Pittman successfully combined theory with practical examples of his own work in the Department of Justice, as well as commissions on reforming natural monopolies under the government of Brazil, China, Poland and Russia. It caused a great interest of the audience and a lively discussion.
This is the third visit of Mr. Pittman to KNUTE and hopefully not the last, as his work experience in the economic competition protection can help form competencies of specialists in competitive relations and public administration areas. Students look forward to the next meeting with Russell W. Pittman.
