Round table “Advocacy of European Rules of Competition”

On November 12, 2024, SUTE hosted a roundtable discussion “Advocacy of European Rules of Competition”, the final stage of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module101047657 - AERC, which is being implemented at the university with the financial support of the European Union in since 2022. The event was co-organized by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.

The event was attended by nearly 60 participants, including scientists and students from 16 higher education institutions from all regions of Ukraine, as well as representatives of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the State Customs Service of Ukraine, DTEK LLC, Arzinger, the Mamutov Institute of Economic and Legal Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Economic Security Council, etc. The speakers' presentations on the harmonization of competition policy of Ukraine with that and the EU, as well as effective advocacy of European competition rules in Ukrainian society, provoked a lively discussion among the participants of the roundtable. At the event, the Guide “European Competition Rules” was presented, which is a translation of the texts of key European regulations that define competition rules. The publication is the result of the project implementation and will be made freely available on the project's website in order to continue to form a fair and lively culture of competition in Ukrainian society.

As a result of the roundtable, Recommendations on the implementation of European competition rules in Ukraine were developed, which will be sent to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities, and other institutional actors involved in the formation and development of the competitive environment and regulation of monopolies in Ukraine.

CЬОМИЙ МОДУЛЬ ПРОЄКТУ «АДВОКАТУВАННЯ ЄВРОПЕЙСЬКИХ ПРАВИЛ КОНКУРЕНЦІЇ»

08-12 липня 2024 року в ДТЕУ пройшов заключний модуль Проєкту Жан Монне «Адвокатування Європейських правил конкуренції», в якому взяло участь 85 слухачів з числа академічної спільноти та державних службовців. Серед останніх – переважали представники Антимонопольного комітету України, малого бізнесу з різних регіонів нашої країни.

ШОСТИЙ МОДУЛЬ ПРОЄКТУ «АДВОКАТУВАННЯ ЄВРОПЕЙСЬКИХ ПРАВИЛ КОНКУРЕНЦІЇ»

20-25 травня 2024 року в ДТЕУ пройшов Шостий модуль Проєкту Жан Монне «Адвокатування Європейських правил конкуренції», в якому взяло участь 94 слухачів з числа академічної спільноти та державних службовців. Серед останніх – переважали здобувачі освітнього ступеня Бакалавр, а також Офісу Президента України та Антимонопольного комітету України. 

40 год. активної дискусії щодо змісту та особливостей застосування європейських правил конкуренції у країнах ЄС та Україні, що є кандидатом на вступ до ЄС, дозволили сформувати у слухачів комплекс знань та умінь, достатніх для правильної кваліфікації конкурентних практик за правилами ЄС, поглибити їх конкурентну культуру.

П'ЯТИЙ МОДУЛЬ ПРОЄКТУ «АДВОКАТУВАННЯ ЄВРОПЕЙСЬКИХ ПРАВИЛ КОНКУРЕНЦІЇ»

06-10 листопада 2023 року в ДТЕУ відбувся П'ятий модуль Проєкту Жан Монне «Адвокатування Європейських правил конкуренції», в якому взяло участь 53 слухача, серед чких переважали здобувачі освітнього ступеня Бакалавр, а також представники академічної спільноти та державні службовці. Враховуючі онлайн формат проведення заходу до модулю долучилися слухачі з різних регіонів України та ті, хто тимчасово перебувають за кордоном. Реалізація чергового етапу проєкту є ще одним кроком на шляху розвитку культури конкуренції для підвищення якісного ділового співробітництва між Україною та ЄС.

THE FOURTH MODULE OF THE PROJECT "ADVOCACY OF EUROPEAN COMPETITION RULES" IN VINNYTSIA

For the first time since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the educational and scientific module "Advocacy of European Competition Rules" was held in an offline format at the Vinnytsia Institute of Trade and Economics of DTEK. The event, which took place on July 10-14, 2023, was attended by 67 students interested in gaining additional knowledge of European competition rules and the prospects for their application in the context of Ukraine's accession to the EU. The participants included representatives of not only the academic community of Vinnytsia region, but also of small businesses and civil society of the region.

At the end of the module, the project coordinator, Professor Ganna Duginets, held a master class on the specifics of preparing a project application under the Jean Monnet Erasmus+ Program.  We hope that next year, representatives of the Vinnytsia Institute of Trade and Economics of DTEK will be among the lwinner’s list of the program.

THE  THIRD MODULE OF THE JEAN MONET PROJECT "ADVOCACY OF EUROPEAN RULES OF COMPETITION"

On April 03-07, 2023, SUTE hosted the Third Module of the Jean Monnet Project "Advocacy of European Rules of Competition", which was attended by 45 participants from the academic community, civil servants, and small business representatives. Given the online format of the event, representatives from different regions of Ukraine – Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Ivano-Frankivsk, and others – have taken part in the module.  

The implementation of the next stage of the project is another step towards developing a culture of competition to improve the quality of business cooperation between Ukraine and the EU.

THE SECOND MODULE OF THE JEAN MONET PROJECT "ADVOCACY OF EUROPEAN RULES OF COMPETITION"

On October 10-14, 2022, SUTE hosted the Second Module of the Jean Monnet Project "Advocacy of European Rules of Competition", which was attended by 37 participants from the academic community, civil servants, as well as representatives of small and medium-sized businesses. It should be noted people from different regions of Ukraine took part in the module: from Lviv, Odesa, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, etc. 

In their feedback, the participants rated the practical significance and usefulness of the knowledge gained for professional development well (averaged 4.8 out of 5), and expressed their wishes for further improvements to the interactive component of the training. We hope that we will be able to conduct the third module in an offline format.

THE FIRST MODULE OF THE JEAN MONET PROJECT "ADVOCACY OF EUROPEAN RULES OF COMPETITION"

On July 18-22, 2022, SUTE hosted the first module of the Jean Monet Project "Advocacy of European Rules of Competition", which was attended by 40 participants from the academic community and civil servants. Among the latter are representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, and the National Agency Corruption Prevention. It should be noted, that the participants represent different regions of Ukraine - Lviv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Uzhgorod, Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Ternopil, etc. 

40 hours of active discussions about the content and specifics of the application of European competition rules in the EU countries and Ukraine, which is a candidate for joining the EU, allowed the participants to form a set of knowledge and skills sufficient for the correct qualification of competitive practices according to the EU rules, to deepen their culture of competition. 

In their feedback on the course, the participants highly rated (4.8 out of 5) its practical significance and usefulness for professional development, expressed interest in deepening their knowledge in the field of competition law and economic analysis of competitive processes.
