1. Brief information about the center, contacts.
The Research Center for Legal Support of Corporate Security - is a scientific-analytical center specializing in research on legal principles for ensuring corporate security. This includes combating abuses of corporate rights, external and internal risks (threats), developing strategies to prevent them, and restoring the country's economy and defense capability.
In addition to generating scientific solutions for current issues in the field of legal support for corporate security, the Center ensures the functioning of a continuously active communication platform. Here, the academic and business communities, state officials, and professionals in the field of corporate security from Ukraine and other countries worldwide have the opportunity for effective discussion.
The Center provides young researchers and higher education seekers with a unique research environment that promotes high-quality research and the development of a scientific career.

3. Areas of research (name of each area and brief information)
Preventing and combating abuse of corporate rights, anti-corruption compliance
The study focuses on determining the current legal framework for the implementation and development of corporate security of a business entity in the current conditions to ensure business growth and development. In this direction, the following are studied:
- types of corporate security and its threats, prevention of threats and counteraction to corporate security risks;
- personnel security at the enterprise;
- prevention and counteraction to raiding of business entities;
- anti-corruption compliance: functions, legal instruments.
The research area seeks to find ways to address these challenges in terms of improving the legal framework for the implementation and development of corporate security.
Out-of-court and in-court protection of violated subjective corporate rights and corporate interests under martial law
Research in this area has several aspects. In particular, the following are studied:
- corporate conflicts and disputes between participants of a corporate-type business organisation, ways to prevent them;
- organisation of corporate investigations at an enterprise, institution or organisation;
- legal means of counteracting corporate fraud in an enterprise.

XII All-Ukrainian scientific and practical seminar «Theoretical and practical problems of development of criminal law and procedure»
On 08 December 2023, the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security co-organised the ХІІ All-Ukrainian scientific and practical seminar «Theoretical and practical problems of development of criminal law and procedure» together with HEI «King Danylo University and «Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University». The seminar was attended by about 100 scholars, practitioners and students. The seminar was organised by Melnychenko Ruslan Volodymyrovych, head of the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security, PhD in law, attorney at law, and Shvedova Ganna Leonidivna, associate professor of the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security, PhD in law, associate professor. The seminar was moderated by associate professor Shvedova Ganna Leonidivna.
The grand opening of the seminar was attended by the dean of the Faculty of International Trade and Law, candidate of law, associate professor Yulia Goncharova, who noted the importance of researching scientific problems in the fields of criminal and criminal procedural law.
Among the main speakers were lecturers of the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security:
- Melnychenko Ruslan Volodymyrovych, PhD in law, attorney-at-law, head of the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security at the State university of trade and economics, who delivered a presentation on "Current issues of criminal proceedings under martial law";

- Zadorozhnia Halyna Volodymyrivna, doctor of law, professor of the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security at the State university of trade and economics, scientific adviser to the President of the Administrative Court of Cassation of the Supreme Court, who delivered a presentation on "Administration of justice under martial law: practical aspects".
The theoretical and practical problems of the development of criminal law and procedure were presented through the eyes of young scientists by the 1st and 2nd year students of the Faculty of international trade and law, who prepared about 30 scientific reports.

- Kryvonos Svitlana, by a 2nd year students of the FITL on the topic: "Applied aspects of expungement and removal of criminal records in Ukraine";
- Hurtina Sofia, by a 2nd year student of the FITL on the topic: "Cruelty to animals: criminal law analysis and counteraction";
- Kozlovska Yana, by a 2nd year students of the FITL on the topic: "Criminal liability for paedophilia in Ukraine";
- Chepelovska Valentina, by a 2nd year students of the FITL on the topic: "Criminal liability for evading mobilisation";
- Stogniya Oleksiy, by a 2nd year student of the FITL on the topic: "International cooperation in criminal proceedings".
A collection of materials will be published based on the results of the workshop, and practical recommendations will be implemented in the educational process of training law students at SUTE.
IV All-Ukrainian scientific and practical seminar «Legal policy of Ukraine: history and present»
6 October 2023 on the occasion of the Lawyer's Day department of legal support for entrepreneurship security was a co-organiser of the IV All-Ukrainian scientific and practical seminar «Legal policy of Ukraine: history and modernity» together with State university «Zhytomyr polytechnic» and HEI «King Danylo University». The seminar was attended by about 100 scholars, practitioners and students. The moderator of the seminar from the State university of trade and economics was the head of the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security, PhD in law, attorney Melnychenko Ruslan Volodymyrovych, organised by associate professor of the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security, PhD in law, associate professor Shvedova Ganna Leonidivna.
The audience was greeted by a number of speakers:
- Korenyuk Olga Oleksandrivna – PhD in law, associate professor, deputy dean of the faculty of international trade and law at the State university of trade and economics;
- Serhiyenko Larysa Vasylivna – doctor of science in public administration, associate professor, dean of the faculty of national security, law and international relations State university «Zhytomyr polytechnic».
Among the keynote speakers were lecturers from the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security:
- Melnychenko Ruslan Volodymyrovych, PhD in law, attorney at law, head of the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security at the State university of trade and economics «Formation of civic consciousness through legal education»;
- Shvedova Ganna Leonidivna, PhD in law, associate professor, associate professor of the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security at the State university of trade and economics «Countering corruption under martial law».

- Shturmak Anastasiya , 2nd year students of the FITL on the topic: "Criminal liability for unfair volunteering" (Supervisor: G.L. Shvedova, PhD in law, associate professor of the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security);
- Panasyuk Valeriy , by 2nd year students of the FITL on the topic: "Certain issues of Ukraine's accession to the European Union" (Supervisor: Pogarchenko T.V., PhD in law, associate professor, associate professor of the department of international, civil and commercial law).
As a result of the scientific and practical seminar, a resolution was passed to formalise the results of the research, make relevant proposals to the legislation and continue the research presented.
І Scientific and practical seminar «Legal regulation of business security under martial law»
From 29 May to 02 June 2023, the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security organised and held a scientific and practical seminar «Legal regulation of business security under martial law», the seminar was attended by more than 100 people. The Chair of the organising committee was Ruslan Melnychenko, PhD in law and attorney at law, and the deputy chair was Anna Shvedova, PhD in law and associate professor of the department.
The purpose of the scientific and practical seminar is to develop fundamental and applied research aimed at solving urgent problems of legal regulation of corporate security under martial law.
The speakers of the scientific and practical seminar were the lecturers of the department, who presented their expert professional opinion on various topical legal issues of business security using multimedia technologies in an online format.
The programme of the scientific and practical seminar included speeches by speakers on specific topics, followed by a discussion:
On 29 May 2023, the speakers were:
- head of the department, PhD in law, attorney-at-law Ruslan Melnychenko with a report on the topic: «Misuse of corporate rights», during which the following theoretical and practical aspects of the topic were revealed: "abuse of company law" in civil law, corporate blackmail of minority participants (shareholders), abuse of the construction of significant transactions and related-party transactions, manipulation of decisions of general meetings of participants (shareholders);
- Olga Sonyuk, associate professor of the department, PhD in law, associate professor, with a report on the topic: «Corporate conflicts and disputes between participants of a corporate-type business organisation», during which the following practical issues were presented for discussion: prerequisites for corporate conflict, out-of-court protection of violated subjective corporate rights and interests, judicial protection of violated subjective corporate rights and interests, grounds for termination of corporate conflict.
On 30 May 2023, they performed:
- Anna Shvedova, associate professor of the department, PhD in law, made a presentation on the topic: «Anticorruption compliance», which included the following topical theoretical and practical issues: the concept of "anti-corruption compliance", persons responsible for implementing anti-corruption policy at the enterprise, compliance functions, risk management in their activities, legal instruments of anti-corruption compliance, legal regulation of prevention of corruption in business at the national level;
- Viktor Nikitenko, associate professor of the department, PhD in law, associate professor, with a report on the topic: «Corporate investigation at an enterprise, institution or organisation», during which the following practical issues were presented for discussion: the concept and general provisions of a corporate investigation in the field of business activity, the procedure for conducting an internal investigation at state-owned enterprises (institutions, organisations), the specifics of an internal investigation of certain facts of corporate fraud, and the execution and implementation of the results of a corporate (internal) investigation.
On 31 May 2023, they performed:
- associate professor of the department, PhD in law, associate professor Oleksiy Alenkin with a report on the topic: «Legal service at the enterprise», which included the following topical issues: the place and role of the legal service in the enterprise, structure and management of the legal service, organisation of the legal service through planning, peculiarities of internal legal work of the legal service in the enterprise, peculiarities of outsourcing to external legal advisers, professional legal assistance of a lawyer;
- professor of the department, doctor of law, professor Andriy Zakharchuk with a report on the topic: «Risks and threats in business», during which the following practical issues were presented for discussion: the concept of corporate security threats, types of corporate security threats, forms of corporate security threats, and the company's strategy for preventing and counteracting corporate security threats.
- June 2023, they performed:
- associate professor of the department, PhD in law, associate professor Angela Koryagina with a report on the topic: «Industrial espionage and commercial intelligence», which included the following topical issues: the concept of «industrial espionage» and its essence, the concept, purpose, objectives and principles of competitive intelligence in an enterprise, intelligence information: sources, types and characteristics, organisation of the competitive intelligence service in an enterprise;
- associate professor, PhD in Law, associate professor Olha Podilchak with a presentation on the topic:«Hostile takeover (raiding) of business entities», during which the following practical issues were presented for discussion: types and models of hostile takeovers of business entities, illegal takeover of business entities, peculiarities of qualification of criminal offences related to hostile takeovers of business entities through forgery of documents submitted for state registration of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, ways to prevent and counteract hostile takeovers.
- June 2023, they performed:
- associate professor, PhD in law, associate professor Natalia Bondarenko with a presentation on this topic: «Personnel security at the enterprise», which included the following topical theoretical and practical issues: enterprise personnel as a source of dangers and threats to its activities, peculiarities of employees' access to documents and materials containing information with restricted access - commercial secrets, counteraction to fraudulent actions by personnel in the economic security system of the enterprise, stages of selection of enterprise personnel, verification of candidates, corporate ethics as a tool for effective management of enterprise personnel;
- associate professor, PhD in law, associate professor Olena Sytnychenko with a presentation on this topic: «Legal means of combating corporate fraud at the enterprise», during which the following practical issues were presented for discussion: reasons for corporate fraud, signs and types of corporate fraud, forms of corporate fraud in an enterprise, methods of committing embezzlement of budgetary funds at state and municipal enterprises, legal mechanisms for combating corporate fraud in an enterprise.
Students of all levels of education who took part in the seminar and made their own proposals were actively involved in the discussion of the topical issues presented at the seminar. In particular, student Roman Boldak offered his own vision of solving the problem of legal security of business during martial law, which sparked a lively discussion in the audience.
Based on the results of the scientific and practical seminar, the Chairman of the organising committee, head of the department Ruslan Melnychenko proposed:
- to continue the practice of holding scientific and practical seminars at the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security on topical issues of legal support of corporate security in modern Ukraine;
- to prepare and post information materials of the scientific and practical seminar on the website of the department;
- to identify areas for further research of topical issues of legal support for corporate security in modern Ukraine;
- to involve a wider range of specialists in solving the problems of legal support for business security under martial law.
VІІ International scientific and practical symposium "conceptual problems of the development of modern humanities and applied science. Post-war reconstruction of Ukraine"
The department of legal support for entrepreneurship security of SUTE (Kyiv) together with HEI «King Danylo University» (Ivano-Frankivsk) on 25 May 2023 co-organised the VІІ International scientific and practical symposium "conceptual problems of the development of modern humanities and applied science. Post-war reconstruction of Ukraine"
The aim of the symposium was to discuss and find ways to solve urgent problems of the humanities and engineering sciences for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
Scientists, research and teaching staff, postgraduate students of higher education and research institutions, practitioners, and students were invited to participate in the symposium.
Form of holding: mixed format.
Languages of the symposium: Ukrainian, English.

On 7 October 2022, on the occasion of the Lawyer's Day, the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security co-organised ІІІ All-Ukrainian scientific and practical seminar "Legal policy of Ukraine: history and modernity" in cooperation with State university «Zhytomyr polytechnic» and HEI «King Danylo University». About 80 scholars, practitioners and students took part in the seminar. The moderator of the seminar from the State university of trade and economics was the head of the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security, PhD in law, attorney Melnychenko Ruslan Volodymyrovych, organised by associate professor of the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security, PhD in law, associate professor Shvedova Ganna Leonidivna.
Among those present, a welcoming speech was delivered by Koreniuk Olha Oleksandrivna - PhD in law, associate professor, deputy dean of the faculty of international trade and law of the State university of trade and economics;

"Theoretical and practical issues of criminal law and procedure"
On 03 december 2021, a meeting was held Х All-Ukrainian scientific and practical seminar "Theoretical and practical issues of criminal law and procedure", co-organised by the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security of the faculty of international trade and law of the Kyiv national trade and economic university together with the department of law of the King Daniel University.
The main speakers at the meeting were: Professor Hloviuk I. V. (LSUIA), associate professor Ogeruk I. (KDU), Yevchuk M. (Regional centre FSLA) Ustymchuk O. (SI "Probation Centre"). The department of legal support for entrepreneurship security was represented by associate professor Shvedova G.L. who delivered a report on "Corruption criminal offences under the Criminal Code of Ukraine".
A significant contribution to the preparation of the seminar was made by the faculty of the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security, students and masters of the faculty of international trade and law. Under the supervision of associate professor Hort I. V., 4 reports were prepared by masters and 2 reports by postgraduate students, and under the supervision of associate professor Shvedova G. L., 18 reports were prepared by students. The materials of scientific reports were published in the conference proceedings.
During the seminar, there was an active discussion and debate on important areas of development of modern criminal law and criminal procedure science: the subject matter, the subject of a criminal offence, exemption from criminal liability, combating various types of crime, domestic violence, legal regulation of the institutions of necessary defence and extreme necessity, judicial protection of participants in corporate relations and other topical issues.

"Legal policy of Ukraine: history and modernity"
On 08 October 2021, a meeting was held on the occasion of the Lawyer's Day ІІ All-Ukrainian scientific and practical seminar "Legal policy of Ukraine: history and modernity", co-organised by the department of legal support for entrepreneurship security of the faculty of international trade and law of the Kyiv national trade and economic university together with the department of law and law enforcement of the State university "Zhytomyr polytechnic".
The following lecturers of the department took an active part in the seminar and prepared interesting scientific reports: head of the department Melnychenko R.V., professor Krehul Y.I., associate professor Shvedova G.L., associate professor Khort I.V., associate professor Nikitenko V.M., associate professor Sytnichenko O.M., associate professor Bondarenko N.O.
Among the main speakers at the seminar was a representative of the department, associate professor Shvedova G.L., who delivered a report on "Criminal law policy in the field of preventing and combating corruption". Other speakers included prof. Hloviuk I.V. (LSUIA), prof. Medytskyi I.B. (V. Stefanyk CNU), associate professor Ostrohlyad O.V. (State University of Zhytomyr Polytechnic), and Romanchenko E.Y. (Deputy chairman of the Zhytomyr District Administrative Court).
The scientific supervision of master's and student research reports in preparation for the seminar was carried out by: associate professor Shvedova G.L., associate professor Hort I.V., associate professor Bondarenko N.O. In total - about 20 scientific reports, which were included in the collection of materials of the scientific seminar.
During the seminar, there was an active discussion and debate on important areas of development of modern legal (criminal, international, judicial) policy in Ukraine today and in the future.
