II International Scientific and Practical Conference “Fundamental and Applied Problems of Society: History, Present, Future”

On April 17, 2025, the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science organized and held the II International Scientific and Practical Conference “Fundamental and Applied Problems of Society: History, Present, Future”.

The event was attended by more than 100 people, including scientists from leading scientific and higher education institutions, practitioners from Ukraine and the world.

The conference was opened and welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Relations of the State University of Trade and Economics, Angelika GERASYMENKO, Doctor of Economics, Professor, who emphasized the importance of understanding the experience gained by Ukraine as a result of a full-scale military invasion and its productive transformation through integration into the context of fundamental research into the problems of the globalized world.

The conference participants discussed significant topics related to the social, political, philosophical and cultural dimensions of the information and digital era and the challenges of globalization of the 21st century. Special attention was paid to the analysis of ethical discourse in science and professional activity, the paradoxes of modern education, as well as the role of science as a carrier of socio-cultural potential in the digital world. An important part of the discussions was the impact of war as a manifestation of systemic violence on the development of all spheres of social life.

Based on the results of the conference, a collection of abstracts will be published and published on the SUTE website.

Participation in the IV All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Online Conference "INNOVATIVE PRACTICES OF SCIENTIFIC EDUCATION" (Kyiv)

On December 11–14, 2024, Professor of the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science of the State University of Trade and Economics Mykola LIPIN took part in the IV All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Online Conference "Innovative Practices of Scientific Education", which was held in Kyiv.

The conference brought together leading scientists, teachers and educators from all over Ukraine to discuss topical issues of the development of scientific education.

The event considered the following key topics:

• scientific education in the context of globalization and modern challenges;

• scientific education at all levels of education: from preschool to higher education;

• professional development of teachers and scientific supervisors: modern methods and tools;

• use of innovative technologies, in particular AI, VR, AR, digital laboratories and platforms, for research activities;

• popularization of science and development of presentation and publication skills.

Mykola LIPIN delivered a report at the plenary session on the topic “Intersubjective nature of scientific creativity”, in which he revealed the meaning of creativity as a socio-historical process that combines individual and collective innovative practices.

Public lecture by Nazip KHAMITOV: "Heuristic possibilities of the methodology of metaanthropology in the context of the challenges of the modern world"

On November 26, 2024, on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Philosophy, the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science of the State University of Trade and Economics had the honor of hosting an outstanding Ukrainian scientist, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Nazip KHAMITOV.

At the lecture, the professor introduced the audience to philosophical metaanthropology - a new direction in humanitarian research, which he initiated in the late 1990s. Based on the classical method of triads by G. Hegel, religious existentialism and personalism, Nazip KHAMITOV presented his model of human development, which goes through three stages:

1️Everyday life - leveling of the personal principle.

2️Limited existence – tragedy and alienation.

3️Meta-limitless existence – fullness of self-realization, achievement of happiness, freedom and spiritual immortality.

After the lecture, a lively discussion took place, which was joined by teachers of the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science, postgraduate students of SUTE and invited scientists.

Svitlana KRYLOVA, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, took an active part in the discussion of the heuristic potential of philosophical meta-anthropology, emphasizing in her introduction that this new direction has today turned into a full-fledged philosophical school, which has formed a whole galaxy of young scientists who fruitfully develop the ideas of Nazip KHAMITOV.

The creative meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere, filled with intellectual ideas and inspiration. The ideas and suggestions expressed during the lecture will undoubtedly be useful when writing dissertations, monographs, scientific articles and will inspire students, postgraduates and teachers to new creative searches.

All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference "Sociocultural Foundations of Economy and Politics: Interrelationships, Trends, Contradictions"

On November 16, 2023, the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science held the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference "Sociocultural Foundations of Economy and Politics: Interrelationships, Trends, Contradictions"

More than 80 people took part in the event, including scientists from 10 leading universities of Ukraine as well as practitioners.

Round table "Sociology in the career of a young specialist"

The round table "Sociology in the career of a young specialist" was held on November 8, 2023 at the State University of Trade and Economics.

Under the leadership of Professor Natalia SHUST and with the participation of associate professors of the department Olga GORPYNYCH and Natalia KROKHMAL, the participants of the round table explored the important role of sociology and sociological methods in the self-determination of young specialists.

This event helped to expand knowledge about sociological methods in various sectors of society and contributed to the popularization of specialty 054 "Sociology". Students had a great opportunity to exchange ideas and deepen their knowledge of sociology.

II International scientific and practical conference "Images of modernity in humanitarian knowledge"

On October 27, 2023, the Department of Journalism and Advertising of SUTE organized and held the II International Scientific and Practical Conference "Images of Modernity in Humanitarian Knowledge". The purpose of the conference was to discuss the current issues of interdisciplinary and paradigmatic reflection at the post-classical stage of the development of modern civilization, issues of the civic vocation of journalism in the context of humanitarian crisis, cyber, information and hybrid wars, the formation of information security on a global and national scale.
