Presentation of the Results of the EU Project
General Information
As part of the discussion on innovative solutions for managing rural development and formulating practical approaches to agricultural policy advancement in Ukraine, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Administration, PhD in Economics, Andrii Shynkovych, participated in the presentation of the results of the EU project “Development of Value Chains in the Dairy and Berry Clusters of the Pyriatyn Community to Expand Economic Opportunities for Youth and Rural Residents and Promote Eco-Oriented Growth”, which took place on January 30, 2025. The project was implemented in partnership with the Institute for Civil Society and the Pyriatyn City Council.
Among the participants were representatives of the leadership of the Pyriatyn Territorial Community, experts in local governance, decentralization, and regional development, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, associations of united territorial communities, and the All-Ukrainian Association of Communities.
Mr. Andrii emphasized that the experience gained from similar projects has significant potential for scaling, as the expansion of value chains in the grain, dairy, and vegetable sectors in the Pyriatyn project demonstrated a multiplier effect, resulting in the creation of over 60 new jobs. Additionally, around 50 families engaged in self-employment, contributing to increased budget revenues for the community.
The experience shared by the project organizers and participants may be valuable for the Department of Public Administration in preparing the next generation of managers, using a successful real-world case study.
