An Engaging Lecture From One of the Executives of Pepsico Ukraine
General Information
Guest lectures by executives and practitioners from leading Ukrainian companies are an integral part of the educational process at the university. It is during such meetings that students have the opportunity to obtain information about the functioning of leading economic entities, learn about effective practical techniques for achieving success in business, and get answers to questions about employment prospects with the best employers. On November 4, 2025, as part of the activities of the student research clubs “Competition of the 21st Century” and “Synergy of Industry Markets”, a guest lecture was given by Iryna Prohonyuk, Sales Director at PepsiCo Ukraine, on the topic “The Company's Strategy for Working with National Clients.” PepsiCo Ukraine is one of the leaders in the Ukrainian food and beverage market, occupying a leading position in the juice, carbonated beverage, and dairy product markets with a number of well-known brands, most of which are available on the shelves of virtually every retail outlet. The company pays billions of hryvnias to budgets at all levels, provides thousands of jobs at its own enterprises, and in 2025, for the second time in a row, was included in the rating of the fifty best employers in Ukraine according to NV and Odgers Ukraine.
Ms. Iryna proposed an original and informal format for communication. The lecturer revealed the need to develop a strategy for working with national clients, drew attention to the channels through which goods are sold, analyzed the evolution of retail businesses over the past twenty-five years, and identified the features of implementing a client strategy, taking into account the different formats of retail chains. Specific examples of the implementation of assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies, as well as the building of partnerships and negotiations, proved to be fascinating. Ms. Iryna also drew attention to the role and place in a modern company of KAM (Key Account Managers) – specialists in serving key clients who are responsible for managing relationships within specific client segments.
At the end of the meeting, the lecturer answered questions from the audience. A number of issues were discussed, which demonstrated the high level of preparation of the university's applicants in the field of consumer goods markets. SUTE students received information about internship and employment opportunities at one of the most famous Ukrainian companies. Iryna Prohonyuk used interactive methods of communication with the audience, inviting them to answer questions. As is tradition, the winners of the intellectual quiz will receive delicious prizes from PepsiCo Ukraine.
University students and academic staff of the Department of Economics and Competitive Policy would like to thank Ms. Iryna Prohonyuk for this wonderful opportunity to deepen their knowledge and broaden their horizons in the field of trade development and the functioning of sectoral markets.
