RETAILUP: SUTE STUDENTS DELVE INTO THE WORLD OF BUSINESS MODELS

General Information

The State University of Trade and Economics (SUTE) continues the successful implementation of the intellectual initiative RetailUp under the inspiring motto, "Where ideas meet experience." The conceptual inspirer and leader of the RetailUp initiative is Olena Obukhivska, a SUTE graduate and expert in international communications. Following a successful launch on October 31, 2025, which gathered around 170 students, the project opened a new chapter dedicated to the fundamental foundations of business.

On November 14, 2025, the second analytical session of RetailUp took place, focusing on a lecture by Mr. Erik-Jan Kaak on the topic, "Business Models and Their Relevance."

The event became an important platform for a deep understanding of the structure and significance of business models in the modern world. The session program covered the following key questions:

  • What is a business model: a thorough definition and its role in value creation.
  • Important components of a business model: a detailed analysis of the key elements that form a successful strategy.
  • How to work with the variability and multifactor nature of the modern business environment.

Participants had the opportunity to form practical skills necessary for future professionals, specifically: developing a systematic approach to business process analysis, using business models as a reliable framework for quality business analysis, and methods for implementing innovative business models in a complex and rapidly changing world.

The RetailUp program was moderated by: Artem Shlapak, Head of Malls Club, and Olena Obukhivska, International Communications Expert and Leader of the RetailUp initiative.

The RetailUp project is a bright example of SUTE's fruitful cooperation with the European business community, offering students a unique opportunity to gain knowledge and experience from top-level practitioners. SUTE students are actively engaging in the initiative, which confirms the high interest in integrating academic knowledge and real European business experience.
