Scientific and Practical Seminar "Credit Services of Financial Institutions"
General Information
The scientific and practical seminar "Credit Services of Financial Institutions" was held with the assistance of the Department of Banking of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting on November 12-15, 2025. The purpose of the seminar is to familiarize business representatives, academics, and students with credit products of financial institutions, including the "5-7-9" program, innovations in the field of lending, in particular, taking into account ESG factors and counterparty risks; as well as to discuss current issues of credit relations between financial institutions and business. The event was attended by over 70 participants: higher education students, postgraduate students, teachers of the State University of Trade and Economics and the Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University; business representatives, including: LLC "DIGSI", LLC "Trading Company Uspih", LLC "UFK TRANS", and a number of individual entrepreneurs.
The head of the banking department, Natalia SHULHA, addressed the seminar participants with a welcoming speech. On the first day of the seminar, lectures by the department’s teachers took place – PhD, Associate Professor Lyudmila GERBICH, PhD, Senior Lecturer Serhiy ONISHCHENKO, PhD, Associate Professor Lydia BELYANKO, as well as stakeholders – Chief Risk Manager of LLC “Best Leasing” Marina BUTOVA and Board Member of PrJSC “Export Credit Agency” Yevhen GARBAR. A lively discussion unfolded on issues related to credit services of financial institutions for businesses, lending under the "Affordable Loans 5-7-9" program and taking into account ESG factors, preparation for obtaining a loan, leasing as an alternative to a bank loan for business growth, etc.
During November 13-15, lecturers from the Department of Banking conducted scientific and practical business consulting on issues related to life hacks of credit relations with banks, European standards of bank lending, adherence to ESG principles as a key factor in obtaining favorable credit terms for business and the risks that the bank assesses when lending to customers.
