The Tour to National Nuclear Energy Generating Company "Energoatom": Students Discover the World of Up-to-date Energetics
General Information
On December 9, 2025, students majoring in geodesy and land management invited the office of National nuclear energy generating company "Energoatom" and took part in an informative lecture arranged by the Company Strategic Communications Directorate.
The meeting was hosted by Roman Zibnitskyi, Head of Public Relations and Public Awareness Campaign Department. He emphasized the importance of an open dialogue between the energy sector and society:
"Nuclear energetics is not only technologies, but also trust. Critical thinking in perception of information about the sector nowadays is a key habit. We aim for explaining difficult processes simply, so that young people comprehend how important safety and transparency in our work are".
Special attention was paid to the role of geodesy and land management in nuclear energetics. Students got to know that selection of sites for nuclear power plants (NPP), topographic research, land control and creation of observation zone maps are impossible without accurate measuring and modern geoinformation systems (GIS). These are technologies that provide security, sustainable development and efficient territory management.
Interactive format of the event included VR-demonstrations, practical working with a dosimeter and review of prototypes of a NPP and a power unit. Exchange of thoughts and communication with experts was held in a format of a lively dialogue where everyone could get answers to actual questions and share personal impressions. Students made sure that energetics is not only difficult technologies, but also openness, transparency and cooperation with society.
These meetings help gain a deeper understanding of how geodesy and land management knowledge is integrated into strategic sectors, which is crucial for shaping the future of Ukraine’s energy security.
