Career Opportunities at the National Competition Authority: A Lecture by a Representative of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine
General Information
The State University of Trade and Economics and the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine share a long-standing and strong partnership, which is reflected in their joint efforts to train a new generation of competitive professionals. An important component of this partnership is the delivery of guest lectures by specialists from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine for students at the State University of Trade and Economics.
As part of Career Week 2026, on April 14, 2026, the Department of Economics and Competition Policy organized a guest lecture on the topic “The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine: The European Dimension of Institutional Capacity and Career Opportunities for Young People”. The lecturer was Nazarii Tabachuk, Ph.D., Deputy Head of the Division of Industrial Goods Markets within the Department of Research and Investigations of Industrial Markets at the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.
Mr. Nazarii outlined the directions for implementing competition policy in the context of reforming the institutional and organizational framework for its implementation, categorized instances of violations of economic competition law, identified the economic and legal challenges involved in identifying such violations, focused on the most important aspects of antitrust enforcement, and analyzed the directions of the AMCU’s international cooperation. The lecturer also pointed out a number of challenges and prospects for strengthening the institutional capacity of the Antimonopoly Committee in the context of Ukraine’s European integration. The most important aspect of the lecture was highlighting employment prospects for DTEU students at the country’s competition authority and opportunities for building a career specifically at the AMCU. The lecturer provided specific advice to students on writing resumes and preparing for interviews, shared his own experience of career growth, and answered a number of questions.
The Department of Economics and Competition Policy and the students of SUTE thank Nazarii Tabachuk for his brilliant lecture, the friendly atmosphere of the discussion, and his valuable advice to SUTE students.
