1st International Culinary Festival: BestCookFest

General Information

The 1st International Culinary Festival “BestCookFest” was held on 4-6 November 2015 within the framework of the International Expoforum of Restaurant, Hotel Business and Cleaning FoReCH – the largest exhibition of the HoReCa sector in Ukraine (KyivExpoPlaza exhibition center).

“BestCookFest” was organized on the occasion of the founding of the public association “Ukrainian Culinary Union”.

The Festival was opened by the President of “Ukrainian Culinary Union”, Rector of Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics Anatolii Mazaraki, who addressed to the participants and guests with the welcome speech.

“BestCookFest” – it was a meeting place of restaurateurs, hoteliers, managers, chefs, confectioners, professors and students from 16 regions of Ukraine and 7 countries.
This Festival gathered unique professionals with the millions culinary ideas in their heads.   

World-wide stars of culinary art, accredited experts of World Association of Chefs' Societies (WACS) were judges of the Festival:

  •  Thomas Gugler (Saudi Arabia),
  • Anil Grover (India),
  • Roman David Tauber (Poland),
  • Ivo Andric (Serbia),
  •  Sarkis Yakubyan, Yuosef Arbid (Israel),
  •  Maria Shramko (Iceland),
  •  Sefer Yapici (Turkey),
  •  Erich Glavica (Croatia), 
  •   Joseph Tsarevitch (Austria),
  •  Mimoza Balla (Albania),
  •  Людмила Радченко, Анна Гасанова, В'ячеслав Совенко, Віктор Тимчишин, Максиму Храмов, Любов Чуницька, Сергій Калінін, Денис Комаренко, Тетяна Забігайло, Галина Лосєва (Ukraine).

Rich program of the Festival included more than 20 competitions. That is why the atmosphere of the “BestCookFest” was super dynamic: there were various presentations, demonstration shows and the air was full of smells of freshly prepared exclusive dishes.

Results of the competitions: 

  • “Grand Prix” – Kharkiv College of Trade and Economics (regional subdivision of Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics);
  • “Best Culinary School 2015"  –  Kharkiv College of Trade and Economics (regional subdivision of Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics);
  • “Best Chef’s Team 2015” – Chikalenko Oleksandr, Nazaruk Tetyana, Krychevskyi Pavlo.  

Festival organizers express sincere gratitude to all judges, partners and sponsors for support and hope for continuation of such fruitful and pleasant cooperation!
