The first stage of Erasmus+ Jean Monnet grant agreement module completed
General Information
The 12-16 of April 2016 in Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics was being held a project "Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the EU: advantages and downsides for the Ukrainian society" which is supported by the European Union under the grant agreement Erasmus + Programme Jean Monnet.
The main aim of the action “Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the EU: advantages and downsides for the Ukrainian society” is to promote understanding of the benefits and problems of strengthening democracy, guaranteeing human rights and improving social standards while implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the EU.
The main objective of the action is to provide access to information to broad layers of population, especially students, university curriculum of which does not include European studies; adults, representatives of civil society who had no opportunity to learn more about European integration.

Among the participants of the action there were mainly teachers and students with non-core education (agrarians, historians, lawyers) which helped to ensure cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary effect to the popularization of knowledge about the advantages and disadvantages of DCFTA for Ukrainian society.
A positive result was a 60% students' knowledge increase, detected by comparing the results of the preliminary and final testing, indicating the effectiveness of the teaching facilities of the action. Participants were interested particularly in the essence of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, the effects of tariff liberalization for Ukraine industries, adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU norms, customs aspects and trade facilitation instruments under the Agreement.
An important achievement of the event was partnerships strengthening between trainers and trainees of the action, which was resulted in a positive effect of co-education during the implementation of the action’s goals and objectives. As a result of the action each participant received a certificate signed by the rector Anatolii Mazaraki.
The next stage of the action is scheduled for June 2016.
