The implementation of the second module of the Jean Monnet program under the EUʼs Erasmus +

General Information

According to the plan of the joint Jean Monnet program project under the EUʼs Erasmus + and KNUTE, the second module of the project «Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the EU: advantages and downsides for the Ukrainian society» was held on 13th-17th June 2016.

Among the participants were mostly bachelor and magister students from the capital’s higher education institutions: KNUTE, V. Hetman Kyiv National University of Economics, Kyiv National University of Linguistics, T. Shevchenko Kyiv National University, National Fiscal Service University’s Kyiv Financial and Economic College. Among the audience were also representatives of state institutions, small businesses and academics from regional universities (Pervomayskiy Polytechnic Institute of Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, Mykolayiv State Agrarian University), who helped to ensure cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary effect of popularizing knowledge on the advantages and disadvantages of DCFTA + for Ukrainian society.

A 60% increase in participants’ knowledge, detected by comparing the results of the preliminary and final testing, is a positive result indicating the effectiveness of the teaching facilities of the action.

Participants showed particular interest in the substance of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU and adapting Ukrainian legislation to the EU standards, especially the tariff liberalization under the agreement.

An important achievement of the event was to deepen partnerships between trainers and trainees of the project, which resulted in a positive effect of co-education in the implementation of goals and objectives of the module.

In conclusion of the action, each participant received a certificate (in Ukrainian and in English) signed by the rector, Anatolii Mazaraki.

The next stage of the action is scheduled for October 2016.
