The President, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Secretary of National Security and Defense, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine as well as many other honored guests, partners and graduates congratulated the University on this occasion.

The event started with a massive procession of students representing all the faculties who cheerfully greeted and welcomed the KNUTE Rector, Deans and Heads of structural subdivisions. An impressive flashmob performed by the enthusiastic students encouraged all the participants and guests of the event.

The celebrations continued in the KNUTE Congress Center. The hosts told the main milestones of the famous history of KNUTE which prepared and graduated a quarter million of students and entered the top 5 best universities in Ukraine.

Guests of the event congratulated Anatoliy Mazaraki, the Rector of Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics, who said in his welcome speech: "70 years is the age to lay foundation for further development. We are confidently entering the eighth decade of our history. Our advantage is the choice of a new generation entrusting their future to us."

The first KNUTE Rector Tamara Skyrda also attended the event. She is a legendary personality, who celebrated her 90th anniversary last year. Having received the KNUTE Worthy of Respect honorary award, Mrs. Skyrda tearfully remembered great years of founding and development of the first USSR trade higher institution: "Today I want to remember the happy years of friendly cooperation of first lecturers and students who laid almost every brick of the institute with their own hands." At the end of her extremely interesting story the first rector wished university all the best and completed the speech with her own poetry lines: "For luck, for many happy and peaceful years to come!"

KNUTE Worthy of Respect honorary awards were also given to the university veterans: V. Kucherenko, L. Nikolaieva, V. Marchuk, S. Kolomatska.

KNTEU partners and good friends came to congratulate the staff of the university. S. Aslanian, Head of Surgery Department of the Main Military Clinical Hospital, thanked the university students and employees for their active participation in volunteer work and assistance to the Ukrainian soldiers.

P. Kalita, the President of the Ukrainian Association for Quality awarded the KNUTE rector with Movement for quality in Ukraine honorary diploma.

S. Litovka, Head of the Central Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, also awarded KNUTE team with the Certificate of Acknowledgement.

Heads of KNUTE structural subdivisions received honorary awards for contribution to the development of the educational sector from Rector A. Mazaraki.

Receiving the award from Anatoliy Mazaraki, Daryna Ponkratova, the chairman of the Council of Student Government, said: "Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics is a unique place where everyone can develop, acquire knowledge, find him/herself and get an elite education. We are proud of our choice and proudly bear the title of best university students in Ukraine. This is a place where dreams really come true!" Daryna presented the video from the Council of Student Government, which was the true expression of love to their native Alma mater. Such optimistic lines almost the oath of allegiance "I will never let you down and betray, my KNUTE!" sounded there.

Rector also awarded the best lecturers and university employees with honorary diplomas for their diligent work, the winners of KNUTE Sports Games among employees also got medals.

The real gem of the whole event was music dance and vocal performances by students and graduates. The audience will long remember the impressive performance of the guests – young girls from Anastasiia Kovalenko dancing Asti school. Light studio of modern dance captured everyone with their colorful dances. Finally, the KNUTE Folk Student Chamber Academic Choir performed Gaudeamus, a solemn anthem of students, and Ad Multos Annos (Many Years to Come) song.

Different events dedicated to the 70th anniversary were held throughout the whole university campus territory. There were exhibitions, presentations, historical Fotosushka out of doors photo exhibition, competition for the best poster "Life is KNUTE", and other art and sports events.

On October 20, 2016 celebrations commemorating the 70th anniversary of KNUTE founding continued to be held in the university.

University congratulations started with the spectacular performance of a military brass band of the Special State Communications Service. Then all the guests were invited to attend a gala concert at the Congress Center.

Congratulating the guests, Rector of Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics Anatoliy Mazaraki said: "University – is not just knowledge, it's the atmosphere. Atmosphere of work, art and communication. The atmosphere, where a young person is developing. Young people entrust their future to us. After all, our main objective is to work for present and future generations. While fulfilling this objective, we are performing an important task of our state – we are building nation."

Heads of state and local authorities, leading Ukrainian and foreign higher educational institutions, public figures, businessmen and clergy, prominent athletes attended university on this solemn day. With warm and sincere congratulations they handed gifts, honorary diplomas and awards to the best KNUTE lecturers and Rector for their hard work and significant contribution to scientific and educational activities.

The heads of foreign universities visited KNUTE to express respect for Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics and congratulate its staff:
