British Council Program «International Offices: Best Practices»

General Information

Study programme «International Offices: Best Practices» organised by the British Council Ukraine with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The programme aims at fostering professional development and capacity building of international offices in Ukrainian universities. The program consists of two modules (the duration of each module two days) which were held in September 2016 and February 2017.

The venue of the program was Kyiv. Approximately 30 leading Ukrainian HEIs took part at the workshop. Tetiana Dupliak, Director of European Education Center was an official representative from Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics at this study workshop. The working language of the workshop was English. There was no translation provided. That is why an important condition of participation was the level B2 or higher of English proficiency.

 Participants were welcomed by Ganna Novosad, Head of Department for International Relations and European Integration, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; Natasha Vasylyuk, Deputy Director British Council Ukraine; Lyudmyla Tacenko, Director of Educational Programs British Council Ukraine. Svitlana Shytikova, Director of the EU project «National Tempus Office in Ukraine», delivered a separate speech on Erasmus +.

This workshop is delivered by UK experts: James Kennedy, Director Global Engagement of the University of Warwick; Gillian Olivieri, Assistant Director Global Engagement – Head of Partnerships, the University of Warwick; Stephanie Sandford, Regional Manager of Coventry University. They shared the best experience in the field of international cooperation concerning international strategy of HEI, its positioning at the international educational market and also development of international marketing and communication strategy of university. UK experts also considered questions like support optimization for international students, the development of international partnership and cooperation in research activities, attraction of financing and management of funds within the projects Erasmus + and Horizon 2020.
