US Federal Trade Commission Economist John K. Hilke Spoke about Reforming Domestic Electricity Market

Under the initiative of the Department of Economic Theory and Competition Policy and the support of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, a lecture by John C. Hilke, Dr. Economics, US Federal Trade Commission economist was held in KNUTE. It was dedicated to the competition challenges in the process of reforming the domestic electricity market.
The lecturer acquainted FEMP and FITL students with:
- mechanism of pricing in the electricity market;
- barriers to entering this market;
- consequences of the local natural monopolies activity, the way they control both production and transportation of electricity.
The lecture was interesting and useful, not only for students but also teachers and postgraduates of the Department of Economic Theory and Competition Policy.
