KNUTE Representatives Took Part in the Working Group Meeting on Harmonizing Law of Ukraine “On Consumer Protection” to the EU Norms
General Information
KNUTE representatives (prof. N. Prytulska, first vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work, prof. T. Hurzhii, head of the Department of administrative, financial and information law, L. Mykytenko, associate professor of the Department of international private, commercial and civil law, N. Borodachova and A. Liha from All-Ukrainian Consumer Federation “Pulse” took part in the working group meeting at the Ministry of Economic Development of Ukraine to harmonize the Law of Ukraine “On Consumers Protection” to the EU norms.
The participants of the meeting considered a wide range of organizational and legal issues of consumer protection:
- implementing the European Union acts on consumer protection in the domestic system of legal regulation;
- developing mechanisms for pre-court resolution of consumer disputes;
- protecting consumer rights in e-commerce;
- protecting rights of vulnerable consumer categories;
- drafting a new Law of Ukraine “On Consumer Protection” on the basis of European standards etc.
The discussion resulted in the development of a conceptual approach to reforming the Ukrainian legislation on consumer protection.
