Scientific and Practical Seminar "University Administration: Deepening Internationalization and Quality Culture at Universities"

General Information

The scientific-practical seminar "University Administration: Deepening Internationalization and Quality Culture at Universities" by auspices of the University Agency of Francophonie, the French Embassy in Ukraine, the French Institute in Ukraine and the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics took place in KNUTE base on June 14-15, 2018.  The seminar united representatives from 30 universities from 6 countries (Ukraine, France, Moldova, Romania, Georgia and Armenia).

The Vice-Rector for Scientific - Pedagogical Work and International Relations V. Sai invited all participants on behalf of  Rector A. Mazaraki. The representatives of  French Embassy in Ukraine and also, University Agency of  Francophonie made speeches, namely:

  • Anne Duruflé, Counselor for Culture and Cooperation of the French Embassy in Ukraine and Director of the French Institute in Ukraine;
  • Fabrice Peutot, Attaché on Cooperation in the French Language of the French Embassy in Ukraine;
  • Sylvain Rigollet, Attaché of the University and Scientific Cooperation of the French Embassy in Ukraine;
  • Roxana Turcanu, coordinator of Ukraine and Moldova from the Bureau of Central and Eastern Europe UAF.

After greetings the plenary meeting was started, within which the representatives of the following higher educational establishments, presented their reports:

  • Rosu   Adriana, Head of the Department of International Relations at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "I. Hatieganu" (Romania);
  • Teodorescu  Cristina-Nicola, Head of Postgraduate Studies Department Universiade de Craiova (Romania);
  • Knaebel  Alexandra, Head of International Relations Department University of Strasbourg (France);
  • Codreanu  Miheala, Senior Project Manager at AUF.

The second day of the seminar was devoted to the discussion of specialized topics in three sections:

  • Internationalization of universities;
  • Quality assurance;
  • Project development and management.

Within the framework of the relevant sections the issues of internationalization of the universities of Central and Eastern Europe, issues of pedagogical and intercultural challenges of international projects, university quality assurance, and the conjunction between the university and the component (faculty), as well as the mechanism of monitoring, perspectives and context of projects for the creation of an international partnership were discussed.

KNUTE is an active member of  the Francophone University Agency already for more than 10 years and it also promotes the dissemination of French among university professors and students. 4 higher educational establishments among tenth European partners in the double-diploma are the French - the University of Grenoble-Alps, University of Paris Est Cretei, University of Clermont-Auvergne, Business School of Audience Nantes. For today, the 10 students of KNUTE is already participating in program of double-diploma and students` exchange in Grenoble and 4 students - in Nantes. During the last year, two French students from Nantes studied at the Master's program in English in KNUTE. The University encourages students to study French language, so that they have the benefits of obtaining grants from French higher educational establishments. Students, who study in France in English-speaking programs and can not speak French, are learning it directly in French universities, according to the appropriate programs.

Conducting the seminar "University administration: deepening internationalization and culture of quality at universities", as well as communication within the framework of the event, were fruitful and useful for all participants. That would, at least, contribute to maintaining the worthy place in the countries and universities of the French language, as a wonderful way of communication, which brings together representatives of education, science and culture.
