Sport and Human Rights

General Information

Sport is health, and a healthy nation is the key to every nation's economic growth. The development of the sports industry has necessitated the legal regulation of this sphere of human existence. Sports law is one of the youngest and most complex branches of law in the world doctrine. Its formation is in its infancy, and thus it becomes one of the most pressing issues of today for legal science. 

The State University of Trade and Economics tries to follow the latest trends in world development, so we are glad to involve international and foreign experts in the educational process. Thus, in the framework of the educational and professional programmes "International Law" and "Sports Management" of the first and second levels of higher education, which provide studying the discipline "International Sports Law", on May 24, 2022 online lecture by Renata Kopchyk, Doctor of Philosophy in International and European Law, a lawyer specialising in the protection of human rights in sport, Professor at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, entitled "Sport and Human Rights" was held. 

More than 100 higher education students had the opportunity to learn about the legal regulation of professional sports in the European Union, the problems that arise during the registration and operation of international sports organizations, licensing in sports, anti-doping and arbitration issues in sports. Meetings with experienced practitioners are new knowledge that will help graduates become competitive in the labor market!
