International online seminar on the topic: "Social Media Research and Analysis with NodeXL".

General Information

Within the framework of events dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the Independence Day of Ukraine with the assistance of the Journalism and Advertising department of the State University of Trade and Economics, Kyiv, Ukraine in cooperation with the School of Media and Communication Studies of the University of Management and Technologies, Lahore, Pakistan, organized and held on 23.09.2022 International online seminar on the topic: "Social Media Research and Analysis with NodeXL".

The co-organizers of the international online seminar were leading scientists and practitioners from  Ukraine (State University of Trade and Economics);  Great Britain – University of Stirling, Scotland, UK; University of Wolverhampton, England; Malaysia – University of Malaya, Malaysia; South Africa – University of Zululand, South Africa; Indonesia – Multimedia Nusantara University, Indonesia.

More than 130 colleagues and students from different countries took part in the international online seminar "Social Media Research and Analysis with NodeXL", who discussed modern trends and features of interaction of participants in online communities in terms of social, commercial and civic activity.Specialists from the University of Stirling, Scotland and the University of Wolverhampton, England presented key practical tools for social network analysis using the "NodeXL Pro" tool. The speakers of the seminar shared the practical experience of easy access to network data streams of social media such as Twitter and Youtube, advanced network indicators, analysis of text and sentiments of community participants, as well as the formation of appropriate reporting that can be used both in science and in business. activities aimed at creating relevant media content and building effective marketing communications. Special thanks for the presentation of the university, speeches and organizational support to the head of the department of journalism and advertising Diana Faivishenko, doctoral student of the department Yanina Lisun, Oksana Melnychenko, Yevhen Shkurov.

The cooperation of the Department of Journalism and Advertising of the State University of Trade and Economics, Kyiv, Ukraine and the participants of the international online seminar "Social Media Research and Analysis with NodeXL" was a powerful start to the new academic year and will be realized in further collaborations and professional events of the department, such as "X All-Ukrainian Competition trade advertising" (November 2022) and the V International Conference "Journalism and advertising: vectors of interaction" (March 2023).
