The 4th online training has been held

The 4th module of the online training project "EU Economic Resilience Policy" at the State University of Trade and Economics took place on January 10-29th, 2024, on the MS Teams platform. The training was attended by over 87 individuals from various regions of Ukraine. The participant group composition was diverse: 35 students (from the State University of Trade and Economics), 46 academic staff and postgraduates from Ukrainian universities (specifically from SUTE, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute, Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnologies named after S. Z. Gzhytsky, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv), Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Academy of Financial Management (Kyiv), Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Zaporizhzhia National University, Odessa National Polytechnic University, Sumy State University), and 6 representatives from the business community and state institutions.

Within the project, trainers Diana Shkurpadska, Volodymyr Tokar, Larysa Lebedeva, and Alina Boiko discussed the conceptual principles of economic resilience, as well as fiscal, social, monetary, trade, and investment policies of the EU and plans for recovery and sresilience of EU and Ukraine.

Following each session, participants actively discussed problematic issues related to ensuring economic resilience, such as fiscal stimulus measures, development prospects of the Visegrad Group in the face of global changes, measures to enhance Ukrainian cohesion, effectiveness of Ukraine's monetary policy in times of crisis, and instruments for implementing the Ukraine Recovery Plan.

The training was attended by 86 individuals from various regions of Ukraine. The participant group composition was also diverse: 58 students (from the State University of Trade and Economics, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv), 23 academic staff from Ukrainian universities (specifically from SUTE, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology (Dnipro), National Pharmaceutical University (Kharkiv), Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnologies named after S. Z. Gzhytsky, Dmytro Motornyi Tavria State Agrotechnological University (Zaporizhzhia), Kamianets-Podilskyi State Institute, National Aviation University (Kyiv), Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National Academy of Internal Affairs (Kyiv)), and 5 representatives from the business community and state institutions.

Within the project, trainers Diana Shkurpadska, Volodymyr Tokar, Larysa Lebedeva, and Alina Boiko discussed the conceptual principles of economic resilience, as well as fiscal, social, monetary, trade, and investment policies of the EU and plans for recovery and stability of EU and Ukrainian member countries.

Following each session, participants actively discussed problematic issues related to ensuring economic resilience, such as the rationality of implementing epidemic prevention measures, the tax system of the EU, social policy measures in the field of education in Ukraine during and after the war, the effectiveness of monetary policy instruments in times of crisis, and instruments and communication channels for implementing the Ukraine Recovery Plan.

Registration is now open for participation in the 3 and 4 online training 

12 December 2023

Registration is open for the online training "EU Economic Resilience Policy" (EUERP),  co-funded by the EU under Erasmus+ Jean Monnet in 2024. Participation is free of charge.

The online training will take place in January 10 - 29, 2024, on the MS Teams platform.

Upon completion of the course, participants will gain knowledge about crisis management measures, methods, and tools of government policy to ensure economic resilience. They will also acquire skills in analyzing the political decisions of EU member countries' governments in supporting national economies in response to contemporary challenges.

Upon successful completion of the final test, participants are expected to receive Certificates of Course Completion (52 hours - 1.7 ECTS credits).

Registration is open until January 9, 2024, by the link. 

Students, doctoral candidates, academics and everyone interested in enhancing their qualifications are invited to participate!

Presentation of project results

As part of a trip to Сraсow (Republic of Poland) under the Erasmus+ academic mobility program, Erasmus Jean Monnet project "EU Economic Resilience Policy" was presented by Project Coordinator Larysa Lebedeva to colleagues from the Dominican Republic and Hungary and discussed changes in modern society as well as their reflection in the educational process.

Presentation of project results

The project team members Larysa Lebedeva and Diana Shkuropadska participated in the XI Internstional Symposium NEW ECONOMY 2023 "Innovative Solutions for Managing the Economy in an International Crisis Scenario", held on May 26-27, 2023 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina with a report on the topic "Turnover in EU Monetary Policy in a Crisis".

Within the event, research results of the project were presented. Based on the conference results, the scientific article was published in the journal ECONOMICS, indexed in the SCOPUS database.

THE SIXTH MODULE OF THE JEAN MONNET PROJECT «EU ECONOMIC RESILIENCE POLICY»

of TRAINING 1 and TRAINING 2

On January 24-25, 2023, Module 6 «Investment policy of the EU economic resilience»  of  Training 1 (group 1) and Training 2 (group 2) was held by the expert of the project Alina Boiko. More than 20 persons took active part in the module (in the 1 and 2 group). During the training sessions, the participants got acquainted with the features of investment regulation in the European Union, analyzed the investment initiative of the European Union in response to COVID-19, considered examples of the investment policy of the EU countries in response to shock challenges of a non-economic nature, formed the skills of defining areas and measures of investment policy by components recovery and resilience policies of the EU. The participants of the module had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the priorities and the mechanism of recovery and resilience of the European Union, to carry out a comparative analysis of the recovery and resilience plans of the EU member states and Ukraine.

THE FIFTH MODULE OF THE JEAN MONNET PROJECT «EU ECONOMIC RESILIENCE POLICY»

of TRAINING 1 and TRAINING 2

On January 21-23, 2023, Module 5 «EU Foreign Economic Policy: Measures and Effects for the Resilience of Member States»  of  Training 1 (group 1) and Training 2 (group 2was held by project expert Alina Boiko and project leader Diana Shkuropadska. More than 30 persons took active part in the module (in the 1 and 2 group). The participants of the module had the opportunity to strengthen their understanding and gain new knowledge about the essence and principles of the common commercial policy, about the EU institutions responsible for the formation and implementation of the common commercial policy, as well as about the instruments of the common commercial policy. 

At the training sessions, the practice of supporting exports at the level of EU member states during the pandemic, the updated trade policy after Covid-19 based on the model of «open strategic autonomy» was presented to the audience. During the lesson with Diana Shkuropadska, participants of the module got acquainted with the current issues of the foreign economic policy of the EU and Ukraine in the conditions of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

THE THIRD AND FOURTH MODULE OF THE JEAN MONNET PROJECT "EU ECONOMIC RESILIENCE POLICYof TRAINING 1 and TRAINING 2

On January 16-20, 2023, Module 3 "EU Monetary policy in the context of crisis phenomena" and Module 4 "EU Financial policy in the context of global instability"  of  Training 1 (group 1) and Training 2 (group 2of the project were held by the project leader Diana Shkuropadska and the project coordinator Larysa Lebedeva. In Modules 3 and 4  (in group 1 and 2) have taken part more than 40 people, including entrepreneurs, students and teachers of SUTE. In her lectures, Larisa Lebedeva revealed such important issues as the main response tools of EU central banks to pandemic crisis and the inflationary crisis caused by the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Larysa revealed the essence of the main instruments of influence of monetary policy in the banking sphere and aspects of financial resilience support of the business environment in the EU countries. Diana Shkuropadska discussed  issues of monetary and financial policy of the Visegrad Group countries in the context of the Covid-19 crisis. Particularly interesting for the audience were the issues of  financial assets profitability and their riskiness during the crisis, the experience of ensuring the financial resilience of the EU countries during general economic instability, which caused great interest in the audience and a lively discussion.

THE SECOND MODULE OF THE JEAN MONNET PROJECT "EU ECONOMIC RESILIENCE POLICY"

of TRAINING 1 and TRAINING 2

On January 14-15, 2023, the 2nd module of the project "Social dimension of the EU resilience policy"  of  Training 1 and Training 2 by trainer Volodymyr Tokar was held in group 1 and 2. More than 30 persons took active part in the module (in the 1 and 2 group). Such important issues as ensuring the resiliense of the social sphere of the EU during the crisis, the promotion of democratic values of the EU, especially the issues of gender equality in society were discussed with a great interest by the audience.

THE FIRST MODULE OF THE JEAN MONNET PROJECT "EU ECONOMIC RESILIENCE POLICY"

of TRAINING 1 and TRAINING 2

On January 11-13, 2023, SUTE has hosted the first module of the Jean Monnet Project "Fiscal Policy of the EU in the Conditions of the Pandemic" of  Training 1 (group 1) and Training 2 (group 2), which was attended by 45 participants (in two groups). The module was attended by representatives of various regions of Ukraine - Odesa, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, etc. The participants of the training had the opportunity to learn more about the features of the EU's fiscal policy from the leader of the project Diana Shkuropadska, its directions and tools for ensuring the resilience of member countries' economies in the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result of the discussion about the role of fiscal policy in overcoming crisis phenomena, the participants came to the conclusion that for effective stimulation of the economy, the means of fiscal policy should be timely and targeted, have an optimal structure.

Registration for the Training 1 and Training 2 of "EU ECONOMIC RESILIENCE POLICY" is open

The program is designed for 52 hours and will cover topics in the following areas:

  •   Fiscal policy of the EU in the conditions of the pandemic
  •   The social dimension of EU resilience policy
  •   Monetary policy of the EU in the conditions of crisis phenomena
  •   Financial policy of the EU in conditions of global instability
  •   EU foreign economic policy: measures and effects for the resilience of member states
  •   EU investment policy: measures, consequences, recovery and resilience

Registration to the January 2023 module is closed.

Participants will receive training certificates.

The training is implemented by research and teaching staff of "SUTE" within the framework of the "Erasmus+" program.
