Summary report of the І International Scientific and Practical Conference "Economics and Business Security in the XXI Century"

General Information

The Department of Economics and Business Finance held the І International Scientific and Practical Conference "Economics and Business Security in the XXI Century", having brought together more than 70 educators, scientists from foreign and domestic higher education institutions, SUTE structural units, representatives of enterprises and government agencies, including Kazimierz the Great University in Bydgoszcz (Poland), University of Rzeszow (Poland), EMPIRICOM College of Computer Science and Informatics (Bosnia and Herzegovina), University of Business and Technology, Tbilisi (Georgia), University College of Business, Tirana (Albania), University of Naples, Naples (Italy), and the Union of Entrepreneurs of Small, Medium and Privatized Enterprises of Ukraine. The conference was held on May 24-25, 2023.

On her welcome speech for opening the conference, Anzhelika Gerasymenko, Doctor of Sciences in Economics, Professor, Vice-rector for Research, Pedagogical Activities and International Relations, noted the extraordinary importance of economic and business security issues under the circumstances of war and the perspectives for recovery in the post-war period, as well as the state regulatory policy in the system of business development. The Vice-Rector wished the participants of the international conference fruitful work.

On May 24, two plenary sessions were held, the moderator of which was Hanna Blakyta, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of Economics and Business Finance department, SUTE.

Participants focused their speeches and discussions on the importance of economic and business issues in the 21st century. Vyacheslav Bykovets, General Director of the Union of Entrepreneurs of Small, Medium and Privatized Enterprises of Ukraine, devoted his report to the problems of small business in the context of war and post-war recovery.

Oksana Trubey, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Director of Business Simulation Training and Research Center, SUTE and Iryna Ganechko, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of Economics and Business Finance department, SUTE, revealed the problems of forming a business environment in the conditions of war. Hanna Sytnyk, Doctor of Economics, Professor of Economics and Business Finance department, SUTE focused attention on the priority vectors of recovery of the economy of Ukraine in the post-war period.

The recovery of Ukrainian enterprises with regard to investment risks was discussed in a report by Leonid Dolinsky, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

A lively discussion followed speeches by You Control Education Manager Anatoliy Pyasetsky on "You Control's capabilities for the economic security system of an enterprise" and by Technical Director of the State Energy Efficiency Fund Igor Krechekevych on "Energy efficiency as a key factor in energy security."

Touching speech by Vyacheslav Marynych, Director of the Sumy Directorate of «Ukrposhta» JSC, on the topic of "Security Management of «Ukrposhta» JSC During Martial Law" was of particular interest as well.

In her report, Kateryna Bagatska, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Doctorate degree student of Economics and Business Finance department, SUTE, focused on the problems of optimization of financing of municipal enterprises as a factor of economic security of the community.

The participants of the І International Conference "Economy and Business Security in the XXI Century", dedicated to the problems and perspectives of business development in Ukraine, were convinced of the prospects of hypotheses and proposals put forward by experienced scientists and practitioners on ways to support the economy and business under martial law, restore and develop them in the post-war period, as well as expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation between SUTE scientists and colleagues to share their knowledge and experience to achieve sustainable development of the national economy in the global world, bringing victory closer.
