Open lecture by Vasyl Boryshchuk, Deputy Head Real Sector Risk Analysis Department of the Financial Stability Department of the NBU’
General Information
The lecture on "Credit risk and financial analysis of corporate borrowers" was held on October 23, 2023, at the initiative of the Department of Banking for students of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting students and PhD.
The lecturer shared his experience of how assessment models for corporate clients - large borrowers - are developed and calibrated, which indicators are included in the assessment of credit risks, and which tools are used to manage them. Vasyl Boryshchuk determined the differences in the credit risk parameters due to the prudential requirements of the NBU, Basel requirements and IFRS 9. The lecturer provided examples of how different interpretations of the articles of the financial statements of the enterprise affect the calculation of the probability of its default. In addition, Vasyl Boryshchuk disclosed the functions of the Department of Financial Stability of the National Bank of Ukraine.
