Round table “Advocacy of European Rules of Competition”

General Information

On November 12, 2024, SUTE hosted a roundtable discussion “Advocacy of European Rules of Competition”, the final stage of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module101047657 - AERC, which is being implemented at the university with the financial support of the European Union in since 2022. The event was co-organized by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.

The event was attended by nearly 60 participants, including scientists and students from 16 higher education institutions from all regions of Ukraine, as well as representatives of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the State Customs Service of Ukraine, DTEK LLC, Arzinger, the Mamutov Institute of Economic and Legal Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Economic Security Council, etc. The speakers' presentations on the harmonization of competition policy of Ukraine with that and the EU, as well as effective advocacy of European competition rules in Ukrainian society, provoked a lively discussion among the participants of the roundtable. At the event, the Guide “European Competition Rules” was presented, which is a translation of the texts of key European regulations that define competition rules. The publication is the result of the project implementation and will be made freely available on the project's website in order to continue to form a fair and lively culture of competition in Ukrainian society.

As a result of the roundtable, Recommendations on the implementation of European competition rules in Ukraine were developed, which will be sent to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities, and other institutional actors involved in the formation and development of the competitive environment and regulation of monopolies in Ukraine.
