The Final Stage of the All-Ukrainian Competition “Ukrainian Youth For Competition” Scientific Essay Contest

General Information

Popularization of the ideas of fair and honest competition as a fundamental principle of economic functioning takes its rightful place in the education of young people's economic outlook. The All-Ukrainian Scientific Essay Contest “Youth of Ukraine for Competition” held at the State University of Trade and Economics was aimed at raising awareness of gifted students about the rules and principles of economic competition, maintaining an active civic position, promoting the development of scientific and creative potential, as well as drawing attention to current issues of competition protection, peculiarities of sectoral development and advocacy methods.

Research essays were submitted in five thematic areas, including the impact of digitalization on competition, consumer's view of competition in Ukraine, competition policy in the EU and Ukraine, peculiarities of competition development in sectoral markets, and methods of combating unfair competition.

The competition jury consisted of leading scholars from the State University of Trade and Economics, the National Institute for Strategic Studies, as well as practitioners from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, the Competition Law Committee of the Ukrainian Bar Association, and the Association of Transport, Forwarding and Logistics Organizations in Ukraine Ukrzovnishtrans.

The jury received 67 pupils' works from almost all regions of the country, including Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Volyn, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Chernivtsi regions. The most active participants were students from schools in Kyiv (12 entries), Kharkiv and Kharkiv region (12 entries), and Sumy and Sumy region (11 entries).

All winners received diplomas and valuable gifts, and participants will receive electronic certificates.

We hope that the All-Ukrainian Scientific Essay Contest “Youth of Ukraine for Competition” will become the first step of the springboard into the interesting and vast world of economic competition, where everyone will take a worthy place among its professional defenders, and competition policy will become a lifelong pursuit!
