Guest Lecture «Public Procurement: Macroeconomic Importance and Competitive Principles of Implementation»

General Information

The State University of Trade and Economics and the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine have strong partnerships, which are realized in the educational process, joint research, organization of scientific and practical conferences and a number of other areas. Guest lectures by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine for SUTE higher education students are an important part of the partnership. We would like to emphasize that such lectures are delivered by our university graduates, as students have the opportunity to see the high level of training of competitive specialists who build a successful career based on the knowledge and competencies gained at SUTE.

On April 4, 2025, the Department of Economics and Competition Policy organized a guest lecture on «Public Procurement: Macroeconomic Importance and Competitive Principles of Implementation». The lecture was delivered by Daria Zolina, a graduate of the Antitrust Management program of SUTE, Chief Specialist of the Department for Appeals against Decisions in the Field of Public Procurement of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.

Ms. Zolina outlined the macroeconomic role of public procurement, pointed out its importance in GDP growth, and revealed the content of the regulatory framework for public procurement in Ukraine. The lecturer defined the role of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine in ensuring competitive principles of public procurement. Ms. Daria paid special attention to the systematization of violations of the legislation on protection of economic competition. The students were also interested in the lecturer's analysis of the functions and role of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine as an appeal body. At the end of the lecture, the students had the opportunity to hear meaningful answers to a number of questions about the AMCU's practice, prospects for strengthening its institutional capacity in the context of Ukraine's integration into the European Union, and employment opportunities for SUTE students at the national competition authority of our country.

The Department of Economics and Competition Policy and SUTE students would like to thank Daria Zolina for the excellent lecture and the opportunity to expand their knowledge in the field of competitive principles of public procurement.
