Business Experiments: Advancing Academic Excellence at SUTE

General Information

Researchers and early-career scholars at our university took part in a series of online workshops dedicated to experimental methods in business and economics.

The training sessions were led by Professor Jens F. Meyer, Adjunct Professor at INSEAD – one of the world’s leading business schools with campuses in France, Singapore, the UAE, and the USA, consistently ranked among the top institutions for MBA and Executive Education programs.

These events marked an important stage in the professional development of our faculty members, researchers, and young scientists. Participants gained new insights into modern approaches to the design and implementation of experiments, discussed complex case studies, and had the opportunity to share their own research experience.

The workshop “Strategic and Managerial Experiments” focused on methodologies for testing hypotheses, strategies, and ideas in controlled settings to support evidence-based decision-making.

The second workshop “Defining Experiments: Pitfalls and Practice” addressed key risks related to internal and external validity of experiments and the challenges of scaling experimental approaches.

The third workshop “Learning from Experiments” highlighted the creation of an organisational culture that embraces experimentation, the development of feedback systems, and the transformation of knowledge into practical innovation.

Participants explored examples of applying experimental methods in marketing, behavioural economics, financial analysis, digital product development, and change management.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Professor Jens F. Meyer for his insightful lectures, his inspiration to adopt experimental methods in academic research, and his openness to meaningful dialogue.

This training series made a valuable contribution to strengthening the research capacity of our academic community and provided powerful tools for advancing innovation in science and education.

The event was organised by the Faculty of International Trade and Law as part of its academic development initiatives for faculty and researchers.
