II International Scientific and Practical Conference "Europeanization of National Law: Problems, Challenges and Prospects
General Information
The II International Scientific and Practical Conference "Europeanization of National Law: Problems, Challenges and Prospects" was held at the State University of Trade and Economics on April 25, 2025. 58 people participated in the event.
The event brought together lawyers, scholars, representatives of the academic community, and the public sector from Ukraine, Poland, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, and other countries.

The moderator of the event was Anna Hurzhiy, associate professor of the department of administrative, financial, and information law at SUTE, who emphasized in her speech the importance of adapting Ukrainian legislation to European standards in the context of current challenges and transformations.
The audience paid special attention to the key presentations of leading speakers:
- Renata SLIWA, professor at the Pedagogical University of the National Education Commission in Krakow (Poland), delivered an excellent report on “Digital Transformation of the State – Where Technology Meets Public Services”;
- Mira MALCZYNSKA-BIALY, professor at Rzeszów University (Poland), thoroughly revealed the issues of “Modern Challenges in Consumer Protection in the European Union”;
- Nicholas ZALEWSKI, representative of Federico II University of Naples (Italy), focused on the importance of a strategic approach to Ukraine’s recovery, presenting the topic “Ukraine's Path to Recovery: Future Labor Market Dynamics and EU Accession”.
At the plenary session, reports were presented by:
- Miklós TIHANYI, representative of the University of Public Service Ludovika (Hungary);
- Chiara FERRO, Ilaria BRUNER, Zaruhi MARGARYAN, representatives of Federico II University of Naples (Italy);
- Valentina CHABERT, representative of La Sapienza University of Rome (Italy);
- Maria Nicola BUONOCORE, representative of Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia).
Within the framework of the panel discussion, moderated by Nicholas ZALEWSKI, topics such as international justice for war criminals, hybrid threats, digital policy, territorialization of digital reforms, geopolitical balancing between the EU and Russia, as well as legal instruments for harmonizing the EU market were discussed. Scholars and practitioners from Ukraine, Italy, Slovakia, and Armenia presented their reports.
The conference became a vivid example of interdisciplinary dialogue that promotes strengthening cooperation between European and Ukrainian academic institutions and expanding the scientific platform for discussing the processes of Europeanization of national law.
Based on the results of the conference, the publication of an electronic collection of scientific papers is planned, which will include the most significant theses of the participants' reports.
