The UN office in Ukraine encourages students to do good

General Information

     October 9 held two public lectures, which were closely’connected. The first lecturer acted as project Manager of the UNDP in Ukraine, candidate of economic Sciences Natalia Sitnikova. Her report «Accelerate progress in achieving the Millennium Development Goals in Ukraine  – was dedicated to the most pressing global issues facing humanity. The Manager of the joint programme of UNDP in Ukraine ’Promoting integration policy and services for people with disabilities in Ukraine» Christine Baghramyan  gave a lecture on the theme ‘Social services that help people.

     Both lectures were held on the initiative of the Department of marketing and advertising. the event was attended By over 100 students 1–5 courses specialties "Marketing", "Advertising and communications’public relations", including three students of NTUU " Kyiv Polytechnic Institute». The message to employees of the UN Office in Ukraine has attracted the interest of teachers KNTEU.

     Natalia Sitnikova presented a project in which it participates, its goals and objectives. In particular, from 2000 to 2015 in Ukraine, the project aims to achieve global goals: poverty reduction, provision of quality education throughout life, gender equality, reducing child mortality, improving health’I mothers, limiting the spread of HIV/ AIDS and TB and the beginning of the decline of their scale, sustainable development of the environment.

     she also shared with the students perspective directions in the project for a further period – 2015–2030 In particular, it was about the work of UNDP in Ukraine on the problems of urbanization and ecology (conservation of fresh water resources), overcoming social inequalities and conflicts between States. She also stressed that the UN office in Ukraine has high hopes for the students because they are the engine of progress and prosperity in the state. The office pays special attention to students ' work at festivals. In particular, it was about Student festival shopping advertising. According to the speaker, these festivals attract mass media to highlight social issues of the state, working on PR isanisto UN in Ukraine, shape public opinion, which, in turn, forces state officials to adopt legislation to address these issues. From young generation depends, will remain citizens of Ukraine population, will become the company. It is in the hands of the students of the future of Ukraine.

     Christina Baghramyan presented a project entitled "Universal design”focused on the needs of all people: both healthy and with specific needs. The project is based on seven principles: equitable use; flexibility in use; simple and intuitive use; information perceived; tolerance for error; small physical effort size and space use of space.

     Open lecture with representatives of UNDP in Ukraine was accompanied by questions from the audience, indicating that the students are interested in this topic. Several times lit a lively discussion.

     the event was Moderated by the head of Department of marketing and advertising KNTEU, Professor Eugene Romat.

     Socializing with guests ended gratitude and loud applause from the audience.
