Participation in the procurement fair and suppliers for the UN needs

The State University of Trade and Economics traditionally takes active part in important state and social processes in Ukraine. Thus, on March 28, 2023, representatives of the University, including D. Antiushko, Associate Professor of the Department of Commodity Science, Safety and Quality Management, participated in the procurement fair and suppliers for the UN needs. The event was held in order to strengthen the capacity of Ukrainian business to access the United Nations Procurement System. D. Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, D. Brown, the coordinator of the UN system in Ukraine, M. Zasulskyi, President of the Kyiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, opened the event. The participants received the necessary knowledge and information on participation in the UN procurement processes.

Winning the competition of scientific projects

Associate Professor of the Department of Commodity Science, Safety and Quality Management, Iryna Goncharova has won the competition of Ukrainian scientists’ projects under the program Pause-Anr Ukraine and has received a 6-month grant (from 01.03.23 to 31.08.23). It’s a significant contribution to the scientific achievements of the Department and University!

15 MARCH – WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY  
WAR IN UKRAINE

Consumer rights are an integral part of the human rights declared by the United Nations and a true value of the European Union. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the proclamation of consumer rights in the world by US President John F. Kennedy. And for more than 20 years in a row, the university has traditionally held events on the occasion of this day, founded in 1973 - World Consumer Rights Day.

On March 15, 2022, Ukrainian and the world consumer community gathered for the FORUM OF THE CONSUMER ASSEMBLY OF UKRAINE "WAR. HUMAN RIGHTS".

Rector of the State University of Trade and Economics Professor Anatoliy Mazaraki focused his welcoming speech on increasing the role of consumers in society and the need to train specialists in the field of consumer protection, safety and quality of goods, features of the new tax policy.

General Director of the Consumers International (SI) Helena Leurent (London, Great Britain), expressed support for Ukraine and suggested specific areas in which CI members (about 200 organizations from more than 100 countries) are ready to help our country. In particular, it is informing Ukrainian refugees about the basic rights of consumers in the EU, providing them with advice and useful resources in the areas of financial, medical, transport services, etc.

All participants of the event expressed confidence in the Victory of Ukraine and its bright European future!
