Jamk is a multidisciplinary University of Applied Sciences with four fields of education (schools) and administration. The schools providing education are the School of Professional Teacher Education, the School of Health and Social Studies, the School of Business and the School of Technology.

Institute of Bioeconomy, the Institute of Information Technology and the Institute of Renewable Industry operate within the Technology Unit, and the Institute of Rehabilitation within the School of Health and Social Studies.

There are several bachelor's degree programs offered in English:

 More than 15 000 students study in JAMK.

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ program projects under the Key action 1 "Learning mobility for individuals" between the State University of Trade and Economics and JAMK University of Applied Sciences an academic mobility program for students and staff is being implemented. For staff and students with "bachelor's" degrees in subject areas of the student's choice.

The language of study/teaching is English.
