Ukrainian society”
The second decade of the XX century was extremely important page of modern history for Ukraine because the state has chosen integration into European economic, political and legal space as strategic direction. Deepening the cooperation with the European Union (EU) is defined as a key priority in foreign policy and strategic goal of Ukraine as on the highest state level so on regional level.
In this regard, KNUTE submitted to the European Commission a request for the implementation of the action “Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the EU: advantages and downsides for the Ukrainian society” prepared by the Department of International Economics in February 2015 that received a European Union grant support of an action initiated under the Jean Monnet Activities within the Erasmus+ Programme in autumn this year.
Jean Monnet Activities is an initiative of the European Union, which was launched in 1990 with the aim of promoting the European idea (the idea of a United Europe) and spreading of European studies in Europe and on other continents. The main objectives of the program are promoting excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union studies worldwide, fostering the scientific and theoretical debates and public discussions of current topics and issues of contemporary phenomena of European integration.
The Department of International Economics and the Department of International Private, Commercial and Civil Law involving prospective professionals who demonstrate excellent characteristics and skills in specific research areas of the European Union and have documentary confirmation will serve the basic unit for the project realization.
The main aim of the action “Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the EU: advantages and downsides for the Ukrainian society” is to promote understanding of the benefits and problems of strengthening democracy, guaranteeing human rights and improving social standards while implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the EU.
The main objective of the action is to provide access to information to broad layers of population, especially students, university curriculum of which does not include European studies; adults, representatives of civil society who had no opportunity to learn more about European integration.
