The main purpose of the Department of Commodity Science, Safety and Quality Management is to train highly qualified specialists in the field of commodity science, safety and quality management.

The Department of Commodity Science, Safety and Quality Management provides training of students in the educational programs:

• Category Management in Retail (specialty 076 “Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activity” study levels “Bachelor” and “Master»”),

• Commodity Science and Commercial Logistics (specialty 076 “Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activity” study levels “Bachelor” and “Master»”),

• Pharmaceutical management (specialty 073 “Management” study level “Bachelor”).

The educational process is provided by leading experts in the field of commodity science, including 5 Doctors of Sciences and 9 PhD.

The powerful academic staff of the department constantly improves forms and methods of training, uses both traditional forms and the latest teaching methods (business games, problematic lectures, case studies, etc.). The staff of the department conducts thorough organizational and methodological work on introducing innovations in the educational process in order to accelerate integration into the international educational space.

Students’ training is conducted in rooms and laboratories with the most advanced equipment.

The department is a pioneer among related educational institutions of Ukraine in introducing new educational programmes, providing students with modern educational and methodological literature. The staff of the department has developed and approved the higher education standards in the field of study “Management and Administration” (“Bachelor” and “Master” study levels).

The professors of the department are members of academic, methodological boards of SUTE, Faculty of Trade and Marketing, Institute of Higher Qualification, editorial and publishing councils, members of specialized scientific boards considering and holding theses defense at the State University of Trade and Economics, Kharkiv State University of Food Technology and Trade, Lviv Commercial Academy.
